Getting Started & Account Setup

What is TakeProfitTrader?

TakeProfitTrader is a futures prop trading firm founded in 2021 that provides traders with funded accounts ranging from $25K to $150K. They offer a single-step evaluation (Test account) followed by funded trading (PRO and PRO+ accounts). The firm specializes in NQ, ES, and other CME futures products with same-day payout access once funded.

How do I register for an account?

Go to takeprofittrader.com, click "Sign Up," enter your email and password, and verify your email address. Registration is free and takes about 5 minutes. After registering, you'll complete KYC verification before you can activate funded accounts.

Do I need to complete KYC before purchasing an account?

No. You can purchase a Test account without completing KYC verification. However, you must complete KYC before activating a funded (PRO or PRO+) account after passing your evaluation.

What documents do I need for KYC verification?

You need three things: a government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID), proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement), and a phone number in international format. All documents must be clear, readable, and show matching information.

How long does KYC verification take?

Most KYC verifications are approved within 24-48 hours. If your documents are clear and match correctly, automated verification can happen within minutes. Manual reviews typically take 1-2 business days.

Can I trade from any country?

No. TakeProfitTrader has a restricted countries list due to brokerage and regulatory limitations. Over 130 countries are restricted, including Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, and many others. Check their official help center for the complete list before registering.

What if my country gets added to the restricted list after I join?

TakeProfitTrader will work with you individually to find a resolution. This might include allowing you to continue trading, facilitating a final payout, or pausing your account until the situation is clarified. Contact support immediately if this happens.

Account Purchase & Subscription

What's the difference between one-time fee and monthly subscription?

One-time fee means you pay once (e.g., $295 for $50K) and can take as long as you want to pass with no rebilling. Monthly subscription costs less upfront (e.g., $175/month for $50K) but rebills every 30 days until you pass or cancel. Monthly subscriptions only make sense if you'll pass within 30 days.

Which payment methods does TakeProfitTrader accept?

TakeProfitTrader accepts credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum). Credit cards process instantly, while crypto transactions take 10-30 minutes for blockchain confirmation.

Can I purchase multiple accounts at once?

Yes. Many traders purchase multiple accounts to diversify strategies or scale faster. You can manage all accounts under one login through your dashboard.

Do promo codes work on all account sizes?

What happens if my payment is declined?

Subscription Management

How do I cancel my subscription?

Log in to your dashboard, go to "Journey to Profit," find your active subscription, and click either the X icon or "Cancel Subscription" button. Confirm cancellation. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.

Does my subscription auto-cancel if I violate a rule?

No. You must manually cancel it. If you violate a rule and forget to cancel, you'll keep getting charged every 30 days for an account you can't trade.

Does my subscription auto-cancel if I pass my evaluation?

Yes. Once you pass and upgrade to a PRO account, your Test subscription automatically cancels. PRO accounts have no recurring subscription fees.

What is the reset fee?

If you violate a rule during your Test, you can reset your account for $100 (flat fee for all account sizes). This restarts your evaluation but does not change your subscription renewal date.

Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-cycle?

No. If you cancel on day 10 of a 30-day billing cycle, you won't get a refund for the remaining 20 days. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current period.

Platform & Technical Setup

Which trading platforms does TakeProfitTrader support?

TakeProfitTrader supports 14+ platforms including TradingView, NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Quantower, R|Trader, Bookmap, MultiCharts, MotiveWave, and others. Your platform choice depends on which data feed you select (Rithmic or CQG).

What's the difference between Rithmic and CQG data feeds?

Rithmic is faster with lower latency, best for scalpers and DOM traders, and works with advanced platforms like NinjaTrader and Quantower. CQG is slightly slower but easier to set up, works with TradingView and Tradovate, and is better for beginners.

Can I switch platforms after purchasing my account?

Only if the new platform uses the same data feed. You can switch from NinjaTrader (Rithmic) to Quantower (Rithmic) without contacting support. But switching from Rithmic to CQG requires buying a new account.

Do I need to pay for platform licenses?

Some platforms are free (NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Quantower basic), while others require paid subscriptions (Bookmap $99-250/month, Jigsaw Trader $197-397/month). TradingView Basic is free but has data delays—upgrade to Premium ($15/month) for real-time data.

How long does it take to receive my account credentials after purchase?

Account credentials typically arrive within 5-10 minutes after purchase. If you don't receive them within 1 hour, check your spam folder and then contact Live Chat Support.

Test Account Rules

What is the profit target for Test accounts?

All Test accounts have a 6% profit target regardless of account size. $25K = $1,500, $50K = $3,000, $100K = $6,000, $150K = $9,000. There is no time limit to reach your target.

What is the consistency rule?

You must trade at least 5 days, and no single day can account for more than 50% of your total profits. For example, if you make $3,000 total, no single day can exceed $1,500 profit. This prevents "one lucky trade" passes.

Is there a daily loss limit on Test accounts?

No. TakeProfitTrader removed daily loss limits in January 2025. You're only bound by the end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown, which is 4% of your starting balance.

How does EOD trailing drawdown work on Test accounts?

Your max loss is 4% of your starting balance, calculated at the end of each trading day. If you start with $50,000, your drawdown limit is $48,000. This drawdown trails upward as you make profit. If you reach $52,000, your new limit is $49,920.

What are the position size limits?

Position limits vary by account size: $25K = 3 contracts (30 micros), $50K = 6 contracts (60 micros), $100K = 10 contracts (100 micros), $150K = 15 contracts (150 micros). Exceeding these limits by even one contract results in immediate disqualification.

Can I hold positions overnight?

Yes. TakeProfitTrader allows overnight and weekend holds on Test accounts. Just be aware of your EOD drawdown before going into the next trading session.

Are EAs (Expert Advisors) allowed on Test accounts?

No. Automated trading bots and Expert Advisors are strictly prohibited on all TakeProfitTrader accounts (Test, PRO, and PRO+). Violations result in immediate account termination.

Is copy trading allowed?

Yes, but only if you're copying yourself across multiple accounts. You cannot use third-party signals or copy other traders. TakeProfitTrader monitors for correlated trading patterns.

PRO Account Rules

What changes when I upgrade to a PRO account?

The profit split is 80/20 (you keep 80%), the consistency rule is removed, and the drawdown switches from EOD trailing to intraday trailing. You pay a one-time $130 activation fee but no recurring subscription fees.

What is intraday trailing drawdown?

Your drawdown limit moves in real-time based on your peak intraday balance. If you start at $50,000 and reach $50,800 intraday, your new limit is $48,720 (4% from peak). If you drop below this before flattening, you violate—even if you never closed below your starting balance.

Is there a daily loss limit on PRO accounts?

No. PRO accounts have no daily loss limits, only the intraday trailing drawdown. However, this makes intraday swings more dangerous because the drawdown moves with unrealized P&L.

Can I request payouts immediately on PRO accounts?

Yes. TakeProfitTrader offers same-day payout access on PRO accounts from day one. There's no minimum days requirement or waiting period. Payouts typically process within 24-48 hours.

How many times can I reset a PRO account?

You can reset a PRO account up to 3 times if you violate rules. After the third reset, you'll need to purchase a new account. Reset fees for PRO accounts are higher than Test reset fees.

Are overnight holds allowed on PRO accounts?

Yes. You can hold positions overnight and through weekends on PRO accounts. Just monitor your intraday trailing drawdown carefully before entering new sessions.

PRO+ Account Rules

What is a PRO+ account?

PRO+ accounts are live CME accounts with real market execution. You trade actual capital through TakeProfitTrader's brokerage partner, not sim funds. To qualify, you must first prove profitability on a PRO account.

How do I qualify for PRO+?

You must trade profitably for at least 10 days on a PRO account and maintain positive results. TakeProfitTrader reviews your performance and invites you to upgrade when you qualify. There's no application process—they reach out to you.

What's different about PRO+ rules?

PRO+ uses EOD trailing drawdown (not intraday), removes the daily loss limit, and gives you more flexibility for position sizing and risk management. The profit split remains 80/20.

Do I pay monthly fees on PRO+ accounts?

No. PRO+ accounts have no recurring subscription fees. You only pay CME data feed costs (typically $50-80/month) and any brokerage fees associated with live trading.

Can I withdraw profits from PRO+ accounts?

Yes. Payouts work the same way as PRO accounts—same-day access, 24-48 hour processing, 80/20 profit split. You're withdrawing real profits from live market trades.

Payouts & Withdrawals

How do payouts work at TakeProfitTrader?

Once funded (PRO or PRO+), you can request withdrawals at any time with no minimum days requirement. TakeProfitTrader processes payouts within 24-48 hours. You receive 80% of profits, they keep 20%.

What is the minimum payout amount?

There is no official minimum payout amount published. However, most traders wait until they have at least $500-1,000 in profits before requesting a withdrawal to make it worthwhile.

How long do payouts take?

Most payouts process within 24-48 hours after request approval. Bank transfers may take an additional 1-3 business days depending on your bank. Cryptocurrency payouts are faster (usually same day).

Can I request multiple payouts per month?

Yes. TakeProfitTrader has no limits on payout frequency. You can request withdrawals weekly, daily, or whenever you want (though processing each one individually may not be efficient).

What payout methods are available?

TakeProfitTrader supports bank transfers (ACH for US, wire for international), PayPal, and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum). Choose your preferred method when submitting your payout request.

Do I pay fees on withdrawals?

TakeProfitTrader doesn't charge withdrawal fees, but your bank or payment processor might. For example, international wire transfers often incur $15-50 in bank fees. Crypto withdrawals have blockchain gas fees.

Trading Restrictions & Violations

What products can I trade?

TakeProfitTrader allows all CME futures contracts including NQ, ES, YM, RTY, CL, GC, and other popular futures products. You cannot trade options, stocks, forex, or crypto.

Can I be logged into two platforms at the same time?

No. You cannot be logged into your account on two separate devices or platforms simultaneously. TakeProfitTrader's system will detect this and lock your account. Log out of one platform before logging into another.

What happens if I exceed my position size limit?

Immediate disqualification. The system will reject orders that exceed limits, but don't rely on this—manage position sizing yourself. Exceeding by even one contract terminates your account.

What happens if I violate my drawdown?

Your account is immediately locked and you cannot trade. For Test accounts, you can reset for $100. For PRO accounts, you can reset up to 3 times (at a higher fee). After that, you'll need to buy a new account.

Can I trade during news events?

Yes. TakeProfitTrader has no restrictions on trading during news events or high-volatility sessions. However, be cautious—slippage and fast markets can trigger drawdown violations quickly.

Are there any prohibited trading strategies?

Automated trading bots, EAs, and third-party copy trading are prohibited. High-frequency scalping is allowed as long as you're not using bots. Hedging across multiple accounts is monitored and may be flagged.

Multiple Accounts & Scaling

Can I have multiple Test accounts?

Yes. You can purchase and trade multiple Test accounts simultaneously. Many traders use multiple accounts to diversify strategies or increase total capital allocation.

Can I have multiple PRO accounts?

Yes. Once you pass multiple Test accounts, you can have multiple PRO accounts running at the same time. This is a common scaling strategy for experienced traders.

Can I copy trades across my own accounts?

Yes. You can copy your own trades across multiple TakeProfitTrader accounts. This is allowed as long as you're the one executing the trades manually or using approved methods to replicate your own positions.

What is the maximum number of accounts I can have?

TakeProfitTrader doesn't publish a hard limit on the number of accounts. Traders commonly manage 3-5 accounts simultaneously. If you're scaling to 10+ accounts, contact support to ensure compliance.

Do I need to complete separate KYC for each account?

No. You complete KYC once for your TakeProfitTrader profile. All accounts under that profile are covered by the same verification.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

My account credentials haven't arrived. What should I do?

Check your spam/junk folder first. If it's been more than 1 hour since purchase, contact Live Chat Support. They can manually send your credentials or check for system issues.

I can't connect my trading platform. What's wrong?

Most connection issues are due to incorrect credentials, Rithmic feed not fully activated (wait 15 minutes after purchase), or firewall blocking the connection. Double-check credentials, wait for activation, and temporarily disable firewalls to test.

My payment was declined. How do I fix it?

Payment declines usually happen because your bank blocked the international transaction. Call your card issuer to approve it, then retry. Alternatively, use PayPal or a different payment method.

I violated a rule by accident. Can I appeal?

TakeProfitTrader does not accept appeals for rule violations. The system is automated, and violations are final. Your only option is to reset your account (if available) or purchase a new one.

I lost my account credentials. How do I recover them?

Log in to your dashboard at takeprofittrader.com and go to your "Active Accounts" section. Click on the account to view credentials. If you've lost your dashboard login, use the password reset function.
