Lucid Trading accepts six major credit and debit card networks: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, and Maestro. Payments process instantly with immediate transaction confirmation.

Understanding accepted payment methods prevents checkout delays when purchasing evaluations or managing subscriptions.

Accepted Payment Methods

Credit/Debit Cards Supported:Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover (credit or debit), Maestro, Diners Club

All major credit and debit card networks are supported, providing flexibility for traders globally. The inclusion of both credit and debit options accommodates different financial preferences and banking structures across countries.

American Express and Discover: Not all prop firms accept these due to higher merchant processing fees (typically 2.5-3.5% vs 1.5-2.5% for Visa/Mastercard). Lucid's inclusion expands payment accessibility, particularly benefiting US traders who prefer American Express rewards programs or use Discover as their primary card. Amex cardholders often value purchase protection and extended warranties on services.

Maestro: Common in Europe but less prevalent in North America, Maestro acceptance helps international traders in countries where Visa/Mastercard debit cards are less standard. UK, Germany, Austria, and several other European countries issue Maestro debit cards as standard banking products. Without Maestro support, European traders would be forced to apply for credit cards or alternative debit networks.

Diners Club: Rare among prop firms due to its smaller market share, Diners Club support benefits travelers and business professionals who carry this card for international use. While representing a small percentage of total card transactions, its inclusion demonstrates Lucid's commitment to payment flexibility across diverse trader demographics.

What Lucid Does NOT Accept

Not supported: Cryptocurrency, bank/wire transfers, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, digital wallets, ACH/direct debit, most prepaid cards (unless branded Visa/Mastercard with registered billing address).

Card-only payments enable instant processing, automatic recurring billing, and established fraud prevention. Cards provide immediate authorization and chargeback protections.

Payment Processing

Instant authorization: Real-time processing within seconds. Immediate confirmation or decline notification.

Secure: PCI-DSS compliant gateways. Card details encrypted during transmission.

Immediate access: Account activates instantly upon successful payment. No waiting period.

Automatic recurring: Monthly subscriptions charge your card on file each cycle. Email notification before charges. Update or remove cards in account settings.

Common Payment Issues

Card declined despite sufficient funds:

Banks frequently flag international prop firm payments as suspicious. Call your bank to authorize the merchant, then retry payment. Most banks whitelist Lucid immediately.

Ensure billing address matches exactly what your bank has on file—street address, apartment number, city, postal code, country. Even minor discrepancies (abbreviating "Street" as "St.") trigger automatic declines.

Currency conversion:

Lucid processes payments in USD. If your card uses another currency (EUR, GBP, CAD), your bank converts at their exchange rate. Most banks charge 1-3% foreign transaction fees. A $200 evaluation becomes $202-$206 after fees. Some premium cards (Amex, Chase Sapphire, Capital One) waive foreign fees.

Prepaid cards:

Prepaid Visa/Mastercard gift cards fail without registered billing addresses. Visit the card issuer's website and register a billing address before purchasing. This takes 5-10 minutes and enables address verification.

Recurring failures:

Monthly subscriptions charge your card automatically. If your card expires or gets replaced, automatic charges fail. Lucid allows 3-5 days grace period before suspending access. Set calendar reminders 30 days before expiration to update payment methods proactively.

International Payment Considerations

Global acceptance: Visa and Mastercard work worldwide. Any non-restricted country can purchase with supported card networks.

Currency conversion: Lucid processes in USD. Your bank converts at their exchange rate when charging your local currency. Rates fluctuate daily.

Dynamic currency conversion (DCC): Decline if offered at checkout. DCC typically offers worse rates than your bank's standard conversion.

International fees: Most non-US cards charge 1-3% foreign transaction fees. A $200 evaluation becomes $202-$206 after fees.

VAT/sales tax: Prices shown are final. No additional VAT or sales tax for international buyers.

Managing Payments

Access payment settings in your dashboard under Account/Billing:

View transaction history (evaluations, subscriptions, resets)
Update payment method (add/remove cards before expiration)
Cancel subscriptions (access continues through current billing period)
Download receipts (PDF for records/tax documentation)
