Tradeify Login Troubleshooting: Fix Authentication and Account Access Errors
I've locked myself out of my Tradeify account three times. The first time, I wasted 90 minutes trying random passwords before realizing I was copying the wrong credentials. The second time, I selected "Live" instead of "Simulation" and spent an hour troubleshooting why my account didn't exist. The third time, my browser auto-lowercased the first letter of my password, and I thought Tradeify's systems were broken.
All three times, the fix took under 2 minutes once I understood what was actually wrong.
Login issues are the most frustrating problems in prop trading because they physically prevent you from trading. You can't place orders, you can't monitor positions, you can't do anything. And when the market's moving and you're locked out, every second feels like money slipping away.
This guide covers every single login and authentication issue I've encountered across 18 months, 5 different accounts, and 3 different trading platforms. If you're staring at "Invalid credentials," "Access denied," or any other login error—this solves it.
Understanding Tradeify's Authentication System
Your Credentials: Where They Are and How They Work
Where to find your credentials:
- Log into app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard (your main Tradeify dashboard)
- Look at the top of the page
- You'll see: "Tradovate Username: TRAD######" and a password displayed
Critical facts about your credentials:
- Same credentials for ALL accounts: Evaluation, funded, multiple accounts—all use the same username/password
- Never change: Your credentials remain the same even after passing evaluations or getting new accounts
- Case-sensitive: Especially the password—capital letters matter
- No spaces: Username and password have no spaces (if you see spaces, you copied wrong)
The Two-Account Confusion
Tradeify Dashboard credentials:
- Email + password
- Used to log into app-f.tradeify.co
- This is your Tradeify account management
Tradovate Trading credentials:
- TRAD###### username + generated password
- Used to log into trading platforms (Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView)
- This is your actual trading account
You need BOTH. Dashboard credentials manage your account, Tradovate credentials execute trades.
Environment Selection: The #1 Login Mistake
Three environments exist in Tradovate:
- Live - Real money accounts (NOT for Tradeify)
- Simulation/Demo - Simulated accounts (Tradeify uses this)
- Replay - Historical data playback (not relevant)
Critical rule: Always select "Simulation" or "Demo" (they're the same thing) when logging into Tradovate, NinjaTrader, or TradingView for Tradeify accounts.
If you select "Live," your login will fail because your Tradeify credentials don't exist in the Live environment.
Issue #1: "Invalid Credentials" or "Access Denied"
Symptoms
- Error: "Invalid username or password"
- Error: "Access denied"
- Error: "Authentication failed"
- Login button doesn't respond
- Spinning wheel, then error message
Root Causes
Cause 1: Wrong Credentials
You're using your Tradeify dashboard email/password instead of your Tradovate credentials.
Cause 2: Wrong Environment
You selected "Live" instead of "Simulation."
Cause 3: Case Sensitivity Issues
Your password has capital letters, but you typed them lowercase.
Cause 4: Copy/Paste Errors
You copied extra spaces or the browser auto-changed the first letter.
Cause 5: Personal Tradovate Account Confusion
You're trying to log into a personal Tradovate account you created separately.
Solution 1: Verify Correct Credentials (1-Minute Fix)
Step 1: Get the right credentials
- Open browser → Go to app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- Log in with your Tradeify account (email + password)
- Look at the top of the dashboard
- Find: "Tradovate Username: TRAD######"
- Find: "Tradovate Password: [password]"
- Use the copy button next to each field (don't type manually)
Step 2: Verify what you copied
- Paste into Notepad/TextEdit temporarily
- Check for spaces at beginning or end (delete if found)
- Verify password starts with a CAPITAL letter
- Username should be exactly: TRAD followed by 6 digits
Step 3: Log in
- Go to trader.tradovate.com (or your platform)
- Paste username (no typing)
- Paste password (no typing)
- Select "Simulation" or "Demo" environment
- Click login
Solution 2: Fix Environment Selection (30-Second Fix)
Tradovate Web/Desktop:
- Login screen → Dropdown menu → Select "Simulation"
- Never select "Live"
NinjaTrader:
- File → Connect → Tradovate
- On login window, find "Environment" dropdown
- Select "Simulation"
- Enter credentials
- Connect
TradingView:
- Open Trading Panel (bottom of screen)
- Click broker connection → "Tradovate"
- Login window appears
- Dropdown menu → Select "Demo" (TradingView calls it "Demo" instead of "Simulation")
- Enter credentials
- Connect
Solution 3: Fix Copy/Paste Case Issues
The problem: Some browsers and platforms automatically lowercase the first character of pasted passwords.
Example:
- Actual password:
Tr4d3!fyP@ss - After pasting:
tr4d3!fyP@ss(first letter lowercased) - Result: Login fails
Solution:
- Copy password from Tradeify dashboard
- Paste into password field
- Manually check the first character
- If it's lowercase but should be uppercase, delete it and retype uppercase
- Leave the rest of the password as pasted
Alternative: Type the entire password manually (slower but guaranteed accurate).
Solution 4: Clear All Auto-Fill and Try Fresh
Chrome/Edge:
- Settings → Passwords → Search for "tradovate"
- Delete any saved Tradovate passwords
- Clear cache: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
- Select "Cookies" and "Cached images"
- Close browser completely
- Reopen and try logging in fresh (don't allow auto-fill)
Safari:
- Safari → Preferences → Passwords
- Search for "tradovate" → Delete all entries
- Safari → Clear History → Choose "all history"
- Restart Safari
- Try logging in fresh
Firefox:
- Options → Privacy & Security → Passwords → Saved Logins
- Search "tradovate" → Remove all
- Options → Privacy & Security → Clear Data
- Check "Cookies" and "Cache"
- Restart Firefox
Issue #2: Login Works But See "Fund Your Account" Message
Symptoms
- Login succeeds
- Platform opens
- You see: "Fund Your Account" or "No accounts available"
- Dashboard shows zero balance
- Can't access your Tradeify account
Root Cause
You successfully logged into a personal Tradovate account (one you created yourself), not your Tradeify-provided account.
Personal Tradovate accounts and Tradeify-provided accounts use the same login system but are completely separate. If you created a personal Tradovate account before joining Tradeify, you might have two different sets of credentials.
Solution: Verify You're Using Tradeify Credentials
Step 1: Check your username format
- Tradeify usernames: Always start with "TRAD" followed by 6 digits (TRAD123456)
- Personal Tradovate usernames: Usually your email address or a custom username you chose
If your username doesn't start with "TRAD," you're using personal Tradovate credentials.
Step 2: Get correct Tradeify credentials
- Go to app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- Copy credentials from top of page
- Log out of Tradovate completely
- Log back in with Tradeify credentials
- Select "Simulation" environment
Step 3: Separate the accounts mentally
- Personal Tradovate: Funded with your own money, "Live" environment
- Tradeify Tradovate: Provided by Tradeify, "Simulation" environment
Keep these completely separate in your mind and in your password manager.
Issue #3: "Account Locked" or "Too Many Failed Attempts"
Symptoms
- Error: "Account temporarily locked"
- Error: "Too many failed login attempts"
- Error: "Please try again in 15 minutes"
- Can't attempt another login
Root Cause
Security system locked your account after 5-10 failed login attempts (exact number varies).
Solution: Wait and Use Correct Credentials
Step 1: Wait
- Lockout duration: Usually 15-30 minutes
- Don't keep trying—you'll extend the lockout
- Use this time to verify your credentials are correct
Step 2: Verify credentials while waiting
- Log into app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- Confirm your Tradovate username and password
- Copy them to a secure note for reference
- Triple-check you're copying correctly (no spaces, correct case)
Step 3: Try again after wait period
- Wait full 30 minutes to be safe
- Clear browser cache
- Use fresh copy of credentials from dashboard
- Select correct environment (Simulation)
Prevention
- Use a password manager (1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden) to store credentials accurately
- Always copy from dashboard, never type from memory
- Never click "remember me" if you're unsure which account you're logging into
Issue #4: Dashboard Login Works But Platform Won't Connect
Symptoms
- Can log into app-f.tradeify.co successfully
- But can't log into Tradovate/NinjaTrader/TradingView
- Get "Invalid credentials" on trading platforms
- Dashboard shows account as active
Root Cause
You're confusing dashboard credentials (email + password) with trading platform credentials (TRAD###### + generated password).
Solution: Use Different Credentials for Different Logins
Issue #5: Password Reset Not Working
Symptoms
- Clicked "Forgot Password"
- Entered email
- No reset email received (or it arrived but link doesn't work)
- Can't complete password reset process
Root Cause Analysis
Cause 1: Wrong Email AddressYou entered an email that's not associated with your Tradeify account.
Cause 2: Email in SpamReset email went to spam/junk folder.
Cause 3: Trying to Reset Tradovate PasswordYou can't reset Tradovate trading credentials yourself—only Tradeify support can.
Cause 4: Email DelaySometimes reset emails take 10-15 minutes to arrive.
Solution: Dashboard Password Reset
For Tradeify Dashboard password:
- Go to app-f.tradeify.co
- Click "Forgot Password"
- Enter your email (the one you used to sign up)
- Check inbox AND spam folder
- Wait up to 15 minutes
- Click link in email (link expires after 1 hour)
- Create new password
For Tradovate Trading credentials:You cannot reset these yourself. Your Tradovate password is fixed by Tradeify.
If you need your Tradovate credentials:
- Log into app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- Credentials are displayed at top of page
- If you can't access dashboard, contact [email protected]
If Email Never Arrives
Check spam/junk folder: Most common issue—email systems flag automated emails.
Verify email address: Log into dashboard (if possible) → Settings → Check registered email.
Wait longer: I've had reset emails take 20+ minutes during high-traffic periods.
Try different browser: Sometimes browser extensions block email confirmation.
Contact support: Email [email protected] with:
- Your registered email address
- Date/time you requested reset
- Confirmation you checked spam
- Any error messages you saw
Issue #6: Multi-Account Login Confusion
Symptoms
- Have multiple Tradeify accounts (2 evaluations + 1 funded, for example)
- Log in successfully
- But see wrong account or balance
- Can't find your specific account in platform
Root Cause
All your Tradeify accounts use the same credentials (username + password). After logging in, you select which account to trade from within the platform.
Solution: Select Correct Account After Login
Tradovate Web/Desktop:
- Log in with credentials
- Top-left corner: Click account dropdown
- You'll see list of all your accounts:
- "50K Growth - Challenge" (evaluation)
- "50K Growth - Sim Funded" (funded)
- "100K Lightning - Sim Funded" (funded)
- Click the account you want to trade
- Platform switches to that account
NinjaTrader:
- Log in with credentials
- Control Center → Accounts tab
- You'll see all connected accounts listed
- Right-click account → "Set as default" (optional)
- When placing orders, verify correct account selected in dropdown
TradingView:
- Log in with credentials
- Trading Panel (bottom) → Account dropdown
- Select account from list
- All orders route to selected account
Identifying Accounts
Account naming format:
[Size] [Type] - [Stage]- Example: "50K Growth - Challenge" = 50K Growth evaluation
- Example: "100K Lightning - Sim Funded" = 100K funded account
If you can't tell which is which:
- Log into app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- View all your accounts with balances and statuses
- Match account sizes and types to platform list
Issue #7: Login Works in Browser But Not in Desktop App
Symptoms
- Can log into trader.tradovate.com (browser) successfully
- But Tradovate Desktop app says "Invalid credentials"
- Same credentials work different places
Root Cause
Desktop app has cached old credentials or session data causing conflicts.
Solution: Clear Desktop App Cache
Windows (Tradovate Desktop):
- Close Tradovate Desktop completely (including system tray)
- Press Windows + R
- Type:
%AppData%\Tradovate - Press Enter
- Delete contents of this folder (keeps settings, clears cache)
- Restart Tradovate Desktop
- Log in fresh
Mac (Tradovate Desktop):
- Quit Tradovate completely (Cmd + Q)
- Finder → Go → Go to Folder
- Type:
~/Library/Application Support/Tradovate - Delete contents
- Restart Tradovate
- Log in fresh
Alternative: Reinstall
- Uninstall Tradovate Desktop
- Delete cache folders (above)
- Download fresh installer from tradovate.com
- Reinstall
- Log in with credentials from Tradeify dashboard
Issue #8: NinjaTrader-Specific Login Problems
Symptoms
- NinjaTrader won't connect to Tradovate
- Error: "Connection failed"
- Error: "Unable to authenticate"
- Works in Tradovate but not NinjaTrader
Root Cause
NinjaTrader connects to Tradovate via API, which has additional authentication steps.
Solution: Proper NinjaTrader Connection Setup
Step 1: Verify NinjaTrader versionYou need NinjaTrader 8 (version 8.0.23.1 or newer).
- Help → About NinjaTrader
- Check version number
- If older than 8.0.23.1, update: ninjatrader.com/download
Step 2: Add Tradovate connection
- Tools → Options → Connections
- Click "Add" (if Tradovate not listed)
- Select "Tradovate" from broker list
- Click "Add"
Step 3: Configure connection
- Username: [Your TRAD###### from Tradeify dashboard]
- Password: [Your generated password from Tradeify dashboard]
- Environment: Select "Simulation" (not Live)
- Click "OK"
Step 4: Connect
- Tools → Connections → Tradovate
- Right-click → Connect
- Wait 10-15 seconds for authentication
- Status should show "Connected"
Step 5: Verify data agreement (if data is delayed)
- Open browser → trader.tradovate.com
- Log in with same credentials
- Sign Non-Professional Data Agreement
- Wait 15 minutes
- Reconnect NinjaTrader
Common NinjaTrader Mistakes
Mistake #1: Selecting "Live" environment
Always select "Simulation" for Tradeify accounts.
Mistake #2: Not signing data agreement
NinjaTrader needs you to sign the agreement through Tradovate Web first.
Mistake #3: Outdated NinjaTrader version
Versions older than 8.0.23.1 may have connection bugs.
Issue #9: TradingView Integration Login Problems
Symptoms
- TradingView login window opens
- Enter credentials
- Error: "Failed to login"
- Error: "TradingView not entitled to access your account"
Root Cause
TradingView requires separate authorization to connect your Tradovate account.
Solution: Proper TradingView Authorization
Step 1: Sign into Tradovate Web first
- Go to trader.tradovate.com
- Log in with your Tradeify credentials
- Select "Demo" environment
- Keep this tab open
Step 2: Connect from TradingView
- Open TradingView
- Open Trading Panel (bottom of chart)
- Click broker dropdown → Select "Tradovate"
- Login window appears
- Select "Demo" from dropdown (not "Live")
- Enter credentials
- Click "Login"
Step 3: Authorize TradingView (if prompted)You may see authorization screen asking if TradingView can access your account:
- Click "Authorize" or "Allow"
- Wait for confirmation
- TradingView connection completes
Step 4: Enable add-on (if required)Some accounts require activating TradingView add-on:
- Log into app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- Go to Account Settings
- Find "TradingView Add-on"
- Click "Activate" (if not already active)
- Wait 5 minutes
- Try connecting again
TradingView Monthly Renewal Requirement
TradingView connection expires every 30 days. You need to:
- Disconnect from Tradovate (in TradingView)
- Reconnect with credentials
- Re-authorize
Set a calendar reminder for monthly renewal.
Troubleshooting Flowchart
Can't log into dashboard (app-f.tradeify.co):
- Use email + password (not TRAD credentials)
- Click "Forgot Password" → Reset
- Check spam for reset email
- If still fails → Contact [email protected]
Can't log into trading platform:
- Use TRAD###### + password from dashboard
- Verify "Simulation"/"Demo" selected
- Check first letter of password is uppercase
- Clear cache → Try fresh
- If works in browser but not app → Reinstall app
Login works but see "Fund Account":
- You're in a personal Tradovate account
- Log out
- Use credentials from Tradeify dashboard (TRAD######)
- Select "Simulation"
See wrong account/balance after login:
- You're logged in correctly
- Select correct account from dropdown
- All accounts use same credentials
Prevention Best Practices
Use a Password Manager
Recommended: 1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden
Store:
- Tradeify Dashboard: Email + password + URL
- Tradovate Trading: TRAD###### + password + environment (Simulation)
- Note which account is evaluation vs funded
Benefit: Never mistype credentials again.
Save Credentials Screenshot
- Log into app-f.tradeify.co/dashboard
- Screenshot the top section (shows credentials)
- Save to secure location (not cloud unless encrypted)
- Reference when needed
I keep mine in an encrypted note in 1Password.
Label Your Accounts
In your password manager or notes:
- "Tradeify - 50K Growth Eval"
- "Tradeify - 50K Growth Funded"
- "Tradeify - 100K Lightning"
Makes it impossible to confuse which credentials go where.
Test Login Monthly
Even if you're trading daily, test login process monthly:
- Log out completely
- Close all tabs/apps
- Log back in from scratch
- Verify you remember process
This prevents panic if you're ever logged out unexpectedly.
FAQ
Can I change my Tradovate trading password?
No. Your Tradovate trading credentials (TRAD###### username and password) are fixed by Tradeify and cannot be changed. You can change your Tradeify dashboard password (email + password), but not your trading credentials.
Do my credentials change when I pass an evaluation?
No. The same credentials work for all your accounts—evaluations, funded accounts, multiple accounts. You log in with one set of credentials and select which account to trade from within the platform.
Why do some platforms say "Demo" and others say "Simulation"?
They're the same thing. Tradovate calls it "Simulation," TradingView calls it "Demo," NinjaTrader uses both terms. Always select this environment for Tradeify accounts—never "Live."
What if I created a personal Tradovate account before joining Tradeify?
You'll have two separate sets of credentials: one for your personal account (Live environment) and one for Tradeify (Simulation environment). Keep them separate. Use your TRAD###### credentials for Tradeify trading.
Can I reset my password if I'm locked out of both dashboard and trading platform?
Email [email protected] with your registered email address and explain you're locked out. Support can verify your identity and help you regain access. Response time is typically 12-24 hours.
Why does my browser keep auto-filling wrong credentials?
Your browser saved old or incorrect credentials. Go to browser settings → Passwords → Search for "tradovate" and "tradeify" → Delete all saved passwords. Then clear cache. Log in fresh and choose not to save passwords (or save the correct ones).
Do I need different credentials for different trading platforms?
No. Use the same TRAD###### + password for Tradovate Web, Tradovate Desktop, NinjaTrader, and TradingView. All platforms connect to the same Tradovate account.
How do I know which account I'm currently logged into?
After logging in, look for the account name/balance displayed. In Tradovate, top-left shows account dropdown. In NinjaTrader, Control Center → Accounts tab. In TradingView, Trading Panel shows account name.
What happens if I log into the "Live" environment by mistake?
Your login will fail with "Invalid credentials" because your Tradeify credentials don't exist in the Live environment. No harm done—just log out and select "Simulation" instead.
Can I be logged into multiple platforms simultaneously with the same account?
Yes. You can have Tradovate Web, NinjaTrader, and TradingView all connected at once. They all see the same account and positions in real-time.
