How to Log In to Quantower with TopOneFutures
If you trade TopOneFutures seriously and prefer clean execution, deep order-flow tools, and flexibility, Quantower is one of the best platforms you can use. I’m running it myself with TopOneFutures, and once it’s set up properly, it’s rock-solid.
This is not a copy of the official help doc.
It’s how I’d explain the Quantower login process trader-to-trader — including what actually matters, what’s optional, and where people usually get stuck the first time.
Quantower + Top One Futures — What You’re Connecting To
Before we jump into steps, one important clarification:
When you “log in to Quantower” for TopOneFutures, you are not logging in with your prop firm email or dashboard credentials.
You are connecting Quantower to Project X, which is the execution backend TopOneFutures uses.
So the flow is:
Quantower → Project X → TopOneFutures server
Once you understand that, everything else clicks into place.
Do You Need the Paid Version of Quantower?
Short answer:
You can use Quantower for free — but most serious traders don’t.
Here’s how I look at it:
Free version (works, but limited)
You can:
- connect to Project X
- place and manage trades
- use basic charts
- run a small number of indicators
You cannot use:
- footprint / cluster charts
- volume profiles & VWAP properly
- advanced order management (SL/TP templates)
- market replay & simulator
- advanced chart types (Renko, Range, Kagi)
Paid version (what most TopOneFutures traders use)
You unlock:
- full volume analysis suite
- footprint & order-flow tools
- unlimited indicators per chart
- proper SL/TP & order templates
- market replay for back-testing
If your edge involves order flow, execution precision, or replay, the paid license is worth it.
(Quantower’s license comparison is on their site — no guesswork needed.)
Step 1: Download Quantower
Go straight to the official site:
Download the installer for your operating system.
Nothing special here — just make sure you’re not using an outdated version.
Step 2: Install Quantower
Once the file is downloaded:
- open your Downloads folder
- double-click the installer
- follow the on-screen steps
- click Extract when prompted
The install is lightweight and fast. No complex setup, no account creation required at this stage.
Step 3: Launch Quantower
After extraction finishes, Quantower usually launches automatically.
If it doesn’t:
- open it manually from your applications folder
- or via the desktop shortcut
You’ll land in the main Quantower workspace.
At this point, don’t look for TopOneFutures yet — that comes in the connection step.
Step 4: Open the Connections Menu
This is where most first-time users hesitate.
Inside Quantower:
- right-click anywhere on the main toolbar
- select “Connections” from the menu
This opens the connection manager where all brokers, feeds, and backends live.
Step 5: Select Project X (This Is the Key Step)
In the Connections window:
- use the search bar
- type ProjectX
- or scroll until you find it
Then:
- double-click ProjectX
You are not looking for “TopOneFutures” here directly.
TopOneFutures is selected inside the Project X connection.
This is a common mistake.
Step 6: Enter Your Login Details
A login window pops up.
Here’s exactly what to enter:
- Username → your Project X username
- Password → your Project X password
- Server → select Top One Futures from the dropdown
Then click Connect.
If your credentials are correct, Quantower connects within seconds.
What Happens After You’re Connected
Once connected successfully:
- your connection status turns green
- TopOneFutures instruments become available
- charts and DOMs start loading data
- you’re ready to trade
From here, everything behaves like a native Quantower environment — not a “prop-firm workaround”.
Where Traders Usually Get Stuck (And How to Avoid It)
Based on what I’ve seen (and helped others fix), these are the common issues:
❌ Using the wrong credentials
You must use Project X credentials, not:
- your prop firm dashboard login
- your email address
- your Quantower account
If in doubt, check the Project X email you received.
❌ Selecting the wrong server
Always make sure the server is set to Top One Futures.
Leaving this on default or another firm will fail silently.
❌ Expecting free features to work
If you’re on the free Quantower version:
- footprint charts won’t load
- volume profiles won’t work
- some order tools will be locked
That’s not a connection issue — it’s a license limitation.
My Personal Quantower Setup Tip (Optional, But Useful)
Once you’re logged in, I recommend doing this early:
- create order templates for your usual size
- pre-define SL/TP logic
- save a default workspace
Quantower shines when you reduce execution friction.
That matters a lot in prop trading, where mistakes cost accounts, not just PnL.
Do You Need to Reconnect Every Time?
Usually no.
Quantower remembers:
- your last connection
- your credentials
- your server selection
On restart, you can reconnect with one click.
If you trade daily, this becomes a non-issue.
Final Takeaway (From a Trader Using It)
Quantower + TopOneFutures is a clean, professional setup once you understand the connection logic.
The key points to remember:
- you connect via Project X, not directly to the firm
- credentials matter — use the right ones
- paid Quantower unlocks the real power
- once connected, it’s stable and fast
If you trade order flow or care about execution quality, Quantower is one of the strongest platforms you can pair with TopOneFutures — and the login process is straightforward once you’ve done it once.
Set it up cleanly, save your workspace, and then forget about it — which is exactly how platform tech should behave.
