TakeProfitTrader KYB Verification for Business Accounts
KYB (Know Your Business) verification is required if you want to trade at TakeProfitTrader under a company entity instead of as an individual. It's an additional verification step after completing personal KYC, and it's only available for US-registered companies.
This guide covers who needs KYB, what documents you'll need, how to complete the verification, and what to do if verification fails or stays pending.
What Is KYB Verification?
KYB (Know Your Business) verifies your company's legal status and ownership structure. TakeProfitTrader uses Sardine, a third-party provider, to process these checks.
Why it matters: TakeProfitTrader needs to verify the company exists, who owns it, and its compliance standing before you can activate funded accounts under a business entity.
Who Needs to Complete KYB?
You need KYB verification if:
1. You choose to trade as a company – During verification (after personal KYC), if you select "As a company", you'll need KYB.
2. Your company data needs updating – If ownership, address, or name changed, you'll need to re-verify.
3. Additional compliance checks are required – Sometimes accounts are flagged for additional review.
KYB Requirements: US Companies Only
Important: TakeProfitTrader only accepts US-registered companies for KYB verification.
This means:
- Your company must be legally registered in the United States
- You can be an international individual, but the company must be US-based
- Foreign companies (UK Ltd, Canadian Inc, etc.) are not eligible
Example: ✅ You're a UK citizen who owns a US LLC – you can complete KYB. ❌ You own a UK Ltd company – not eligible.
If you're an international trader without a US company, you'll need to trade as an individual or set up a US LLC.
How to Complete KYB Verification
KYB verification happens after you complete personal KYC. You can't do KYB first—TakeProfitTrader needs to verify you as an individual before verifying your company.
Step-by-step process:
1. Complete personal KYC first
If you haven't done this yet, you'll need to submit your government-issued ID, proof of address, and phone number. The KYC verification guide walks through this process in detail.
2. Select "As a company" during verification
After KYC is approved, you'll be asked how you want to trade. Choose "As a company".
3. Fill in your company details
You'll need to provide:
- Legal company name
- EIN (Employer Identification Number)
- Company registration state
- Business address
- Ownership structure
4. Click "Verify company"
This submits your information to Sardine for verification. Processing time varies—sometimes it's instant, sometimes it takes a few hours or days.
KYB Verification Statuses
After submitting KYB information, you'll see one of three statuses:
Verified ✅ – Your business is verified. You'll receive a confirmation email and can now purchase accounts under your company entity.
Failed ❌ – Verification was rejected. You'll receive an email explaining why and can retry (up to 3 times). Common reasons: EIN mismatch, address doesn't match records, ownership information unavailable in public records, or company is inactive.
Pending / In Progress ⏳ – Verification is being processed. Most resolve within 24-48 hours. You can continue trading as an individual while waiting. If status stays pending for more than 3 business days, contact support.
What If You Didn't Finish the Verification Flow?
If you closed the browser before completing KYB:
- Click the banner at the top of your dashboard, or
- Go to User Profile → Identity tab → "Switch to Company"
- Fill in your company details and click "Verify company"
Important: Verification data isn't retained if verification fails—you'll need to re-enter it on your next attempt.
Common KYB Issues & Solutions
KYB stays pending: Wait 3-5 business days. If still pending, contact support for manual review.
KYB fails despite valid company: Public records may lack ownership information. Try again with exact EIN/company name match. Contact support after 3 failed attempts.
Can't find "Switch to Company": Complete personal KYC first—KYB is only available after KYC approval.
